With more than 60 species of exotic fish in one of the largest freshwater fisheries in Thailand, Exotic Fishing Thailand offers an excellent setting for catch and release fishing.
The resort, which is located just an hour’s drive from Phuket International Airport, has one of Asia’s largest selection of exotic fish species, including species that weigh over 50kg such as Arapaima, which can weigh up to 135kg, Wallagoo Leeri over 60kg, Alligator Gar over 50kg and Mekong Catfish over 135kg. The resort features a fish park for anglers and non anglers alike with two fish feeding ponds containing fish up to 50kg. There are also 20 aquariums with fish from all over the world with explanations of their origin, feeding and breeding habits and maximum sizes. There are plans to introduce a fishing school where beginners can learn the basics of angling before they start their fishing experience.
Set among misty mountains, Exotic Fishing Thailand’s lake measures nearly 10 acres. Each fishing swim is designed and positioned so as to optimise the size of the lake and give anglers the feeling that they are almost alone on the lake.
Exotic Fishing Thailand features five mountain view bungalows and there are plans to add an additional four rooms as well as a swimming pool. Catering not only to fishing enthusiasts but also to their friends and families, Exotic Fishing Thailand also features the Mountain View Restaurant which offers both Thai and international cuisine, as well as Thai cooking classes where guests can learn how to make famous Thai dishes such as Pad Thai and green curry.
