Expected to attract between 150,000-200,000 visitors, the inaugural The Dawn Festival is designed to highlight Yangon as a cultural hub in Southeast Asia and to promote tourism in Myanmar.
The 10-day festival from 10-19 November 2017 will shine the light on Yangon's vibrant cultural scene, celebrating the city’s music, food and visual arts. The festival will feature world class performances, cross-cultural collaborations and local community projects from local and international acts, including David Foster and Friends featuring Michael Bolton, Peter Cetera, Katherine Jenkins accompanied by the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra from Singapore. Other attendees include celebrity chefs such as Justin Quek, Henrik Yde-Andersen and Hendrik Otto, and artists, including Tin Aung Kyaw, Win Pe Myint, Maung Aw and Min Wae Aung (subject to change).
Myanmar has experienced a remarkable transformation over the past few years since the introduction of economic and political reforms.
