One of the Kingdom’s most popular running races returns to Bangsaen Beach in December this year. With registrations well underway, the race is expected to attract thousands of participants from Thailand and beyond.
Now in its fourth year, Bangsaen21 has won the popularity of “Best Half Marathon” running event in Thailand for three consecutive years. Following last years petition for its IAAF Road Race Bronze Label (anticipated announcement in June 2018) the prestigious world standard will be the first for a half marathon in Thailand and South East Asia, one of only 101 certified events worldwide. IAAF Road Race Label Events are certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations as one of the leading road races around the world. With famous races like the Tokyo Marathon, the Boston Marathon and the Berlin Marathon all on the list.
Participants can choose between three distances, including the Half Marathon (21.0975km), the Mini Marathon (10km) and the Micro Marathon (5km), with the Half Marathon and the Mini Marathon having been certified by IAAF/AIMS measurements. Age categories are measured with 5-year increments with prize money for overall category winners.
Organised by Mice & Communication Co., Ltd. and Saensuk Muncipal, the race is intended to attract more people to the picturesque area of Bangsaen. The race will take runners along the coastal communities of Bangsaen in the province of Chonburi a few hours from Bangkok.
