After postponing the 2020 Supersports Bangkok Half Marathon, the organisers are putting on a bigger and better race in 2021. With activities centred around CentralWorld, the organisers expect to attract not only race participants but also the general public for a weekend of racing and expo.
Organised with the support of Supersports and Adidas, Supersports Bangkok Half Marathon 2021 promises to put on one of the city’s best road races with participants expected to come from all over Thailand and beyond, travel restrictions allowing. All registrations for the sold-out Supersports Bangkok Half Marathon 2020 will be transferred to the new date and organisers expect an even bigger event with more than 6,500 people participating.
With two distances, the race is expected to attract both experienced runners and beginners or those looking for a more relaxed race. The race has traditionally attracted a large number of both Thais and foreigners and is well received by the public. Participants can choose between the 21-kilometre Half Marathon distance, which starts at 3.30am, and the 10.5-kilometre Mini Marathon, which starts an hour later. A communal warm up will take place before the start of the Half Marathon for those interested. Each runner will receive a race kit with a high quality race shirt from Adidas.
The races will take participants through the streets of Bangkok starting and finishing at CentralWorld. With more than 50,000 baht in cash prizes for the fastest runners in the Half Marathon category, the stage is set for a fast race. In addition to the two races, participants and spectators can also browse an expo showcasing the newest products and services in the world of road racing and healthy living.
As part of its involvement in 2020 Supersports Bangkok Half Marathon, Supersports will donate money from the event to the Paralympic Committee of Thailand Under Royal Patronage, which take care of physically challenged Thai athletes.
