BANGSAEN42 has quickly become one of the most anticipated running events on the Asian racing calendar, attracting thousands of runners from all over the region.
Running is one of the fastest growing sports in Thailand and it is easy to see why; the country is blessed with a mild climate and an abundance of picturesque running tracks in every region. The popularity of the sport has fostered an active racing scene with running races increasing in numbers and becoming better and more professional each year.
One of those races is BANGSAEN42, held in the beautiful coastal region of Chonburi. Certified by the IAAF/AIMS, the 42.195km course will take runners past the charming fishing communities of Bangsaen as well as local landmarks such as the shrine for Nezha’s Tai Tzu-Naklua. The race starts before sunrise, allowing for beautiful sunrise scenes along the way.
As the first running event in Thailand with a single distance, BANGSAEN42 is raising the bar for running events in the country. Participants are categorised according to age with 5-year increments. The fastest five runners in the overall category and in the Thai category will receive prize money as well as a trophy.
Organised by MICE & Communication Co., Ltd. and Chonburi’s Saensuk Municipality. The race is a member of The Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMs) and certified with IAAF-AIMS Course Measurement. The race is aiming to qualify for IAAF Road Race Bronze Label in the year 2019.
