X-15 ACTION GAMES 2026 is the world’s first one-design Wingfoiling Class competition, featuring close to the shore, short-course sail racing with 20 to 50 riders on the water at once.
The X-15 Class is a pioneering and rapidly emerging global racing platform that combines speed, sustainability, and inclusivity to redefine the world of competitive sailing.
Born out of a passion for innovation and a need to create a more approachable watersport, the X-15 launched its first event in July 2023 at Foiling Week. The name pays homage to the legendary X-15 rocket plane - a nod to co-founder Svein Rasmussen’s connection to Jim Drake, inventor of windsurfing, wingfoiling and the fastest manned-plane.
At the core of the X-15 Class is its "One Design" philosophy: all athletes compete using identical, durable, low-cost equipment — a board with foil and a wing. This eliminates equipment advantages and puts athletic performance front and center. The versatility and affordability of the gear make X-15 more accessible than traditional sailing classes, opening the door for schools, clubs, and young athletes to get involved at every level.
With a number of events scheduled for 2026, X-15 aims to be recognised globally as an official racing class. This designation empowers the class to host World Championships, award five world titles for the year, and receive institutional support, unlocking new pathways for funding and national sailing programme integration.
The X-15 ACTION GAMES 2026 aims to make sailing exciting and inclusive with short, dynamic races close to shore with youth, women, and diverse body types all able to compete equally. Furthermore, the tour aims to tackle plastic pollution, embedding real, measurable impact into every race with ocean clean-up and mangrove planting. And with the same equipment used globally, local clubs and schools can create talent pathways directly linked to the top level of the sport.
With 25 riders already competing and a goal to regularly host 50-athlete events, the X-15 ACTION GAMES 2026 envisions a vibrant international circuit. Proposed 2026 locations include Thailand, Singapore, Macau, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Spain, England, USA and the Cayman Islands.
