XSERIES-3 2027, the latest edition of the 5v5 futsal tournament created by Games of Society, will run 22-24 January 2027 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta's historic indoor arena built for the 1962 Asian Games.
Eight teams will contest 12 matches across three days, split into Cup and Plate competitions, at a 16,000-capacity venue. Matches run four 10-minute quarters, with rules including a 24-second possession limit, double-value goals from beyond the second line, and randomly drawn "X-Cards" that introduce twists such as Golden Boy or Royal Rumble 3v3 during the closing stages.
Organised by GOSX Pte. Ltd., the tournament follows the same proven format, inviting a host of popular players including David Silva, Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Nemanja Vidić, alongside Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian and South Korean sporting figures and a roster of Indonesian celebrities.
The event is expected to attract more than 50,000 attendees, and garner five million-plus livestream views and over one billion social media impressions, with 30-35 percent of livestream viewers expected from outside Indonesia. The audience skews young: 75.8 percent are aged 18-34, and 87.5 percent are male. Games of Society's broader ecosystem — spanning school, university and community competitions including the Futsal Series and National Collegiate Futsal Series — claims a 34 million-plus online audience and 756,000-plus offline audience across 40 Indonesian cities.
The tournament builds on two prior editions. XSERIES-1 from September 2025 drew a 3,000-plus offline crowd and five million-plus livestream viewers, and XSERIES-2 from January this year grew that to 7,000-plus offline and 17 million-plus livestream viewers, with international viewership expanding to include Thailand, Malaysia, Brazil and Portugal. Games of Society also cites a record single-match attendance of 15,337 in November 2025.
The XSERIES is a testament to the growing popularity of futsal in Indonesia and beyond: an estimated 50 million-plus Indonesian students are familiar with the sport, 95 percent of Indonesian schools reportedly meet minimum facility requirements to play, and the national futsal team was ranked 14th globally in 2025.
