The Laguna Phuket International Marathon, Friday 11th - Sunday 13th June 2010, Phuket Thailand.
Now in its fifth year the race is going from strength to strength with numbers of participants expected to break 5,000 in 2010 and grow at 1,000 per year until 2013 including runners from Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Brought to you by Go Adventure Asia, the main 42.2KM international marathon is supported by a number of races including a:
- Half Marathon - 21.1KM
- 10.5 KM Run - 10.5KM
- Walk - 5KM
- Kids Run - 2KM
The Laguna Phuket International Marathon consists of 3 days of activities including: an Expo for sponsors to promote their products and services; Parties & VIP Hospitality; and Trophy Presentations.
Go Adventure Asia is encouraging runners to raise money for charity. This is a relatively new concept in Thailand, but the organisers hope to emulate the success of the London Marathon, whose participants raised in excess of £45 million in 2009. The Laguna Phuket International Marathon 2010 will work with Laguna Phuket’s CSR Program to identify needy projects in Phuket and surrounding provinces, which will receive the donated money.
