International Festival of Martial Arts 2019
Pattaya, 2-6 October 2019

More than 1,500 athletes from 70 countries will convene at the Indoor Athletics Stadium in Pattaya in October 2019 for the fifth edition of the International Festival of Martial Arts. Held by the International Federation of Martial Arts Festival (IFMAF), the International Festival of Martial Arts has previously been held in India, Indonesia, Iran and Turkey.

Held with an aim to promote and spread martial arts, the International Festival of Martial Arts is expected to attract martial arts athletes from around the world who will compete in various disciplines including muay thai, kick boxing, jujitsu hapkido, karate, wuyinam, belt wrestling, pajhwit, kowatorami, personal defence and individual arts. More than 5,000 visitors are expected to attend the festival.

With the motto “No to violence with sport”, the festival will also feature a four-day conference discussing how the spread of martial arts and sports in general can help to bridge the gap between cultures and mitigate any kind of violence. The conference is expected to be attended by various stakeholders such as social activists, sports agencies, NGOs, corporations and government bodies.

A 5,000-square metre exhibition space will allow brands to showcase their products and services and give visitors a chance to sample food and beverages, learn more about the various martial arts and interact with relevant brands. A nightly concert programme will highlight the cultural aspect of the festival, giving attendees and visitors a chance to listen to music from different parts of the world.

The International Festival of Martial Arts is organised by ITBC, a Bangkok-based organisation aiming to facilitate connections between ASEAN countries and countries in the Middle East.
