SPIA Asia - Sports Industry Awards was created to recognise and celebrate the achievements made by the sporting industry in Asia in recent years. For decades in the shadow of Europe and America when it came to high profile international sporting events, Asia is fast becoming a premier destination for large scale tournaments and competitions with year-on-year increases in frequency, size and spending.

Founded by MMC Sportz, a Dubai and Manila based sports advertising and communication agency, and Sport 360, the leading daily sports information and news provider in the Middle East, SPIA Asia - Sports Industry Awards shines the light on the business leaders, rights holders, organisations, facilities and campaigns that contribute to the industry's continued growth and success in Asia.

Each category is open to receive submissions from 17 Asian countries including Brunei, Cambodia, China, East Timor, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. The awards are judged by a panel of leading industry experts overseen by auditors in a rigid judging process in accordance with international sport industry award rules and regulations.

Governments in Asia are very aware of the added value of hosting large scale sporting events, and countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand have dedicated government agencies whose sole purpose it is to attract, support and organise sporting events.

SPIA Asia 2016 - Sports Industry Awards aims to bring together regional experts, agencies and government bodies to continue to develop and improve the overall sporting landscape in Asia to better compete within the international sporting arena.

The awards, a black tie gala dinner with over 450+ guests and international entertainment, recognises and rewards excellence to the shortlisted finalists in five local and 14 Asian awards categories.
