Located at the island’s popular Boat Lagoon, Phuket’s first and only ice rink is sure to become one of the most popular attractions for residents and visitors alike. Visitors can choose to simply spend a couple of hours on the rink or sign up for an array of events such as one-hour skate sessions, family activities and figure skating or ice hockey lessons.
Ice Arena Phuket will also regularly host different kinds of ice entertainment that will be sure to draw in the whole family. Local ice hockey matches are also in the planning.
The ice skating craze has taken off in Thailand in recent years and Bangkok already has several ice rinks. Disney on Ice, the popular children’s ice show, is regularly sold out and has no doubt helped introduce ice skating to the general public. The newly established Siam Hockey League is also gaining momentum with the first season seeing four teams competing for victory. What's more, the Thai national ice hockey team is a hot favourite to win the 2017 SEA Games which will kick off in Kuala Lumpur at the end of August.
Ice Arena Phuket is open 7 days a week and skate hire is included in the admission fee. Spectators can enjoy the activities from the side of the rink of from the 2nd floor overlooking the rink. The 1st floor Champion’s Bar and Restaurant also offers great views of the rink.
